She has won numerous awards for her outstanding animated shorts. Torill began working at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) in the mid-1990s. She directed six animated short films with the NFB and Mikrofilm (Norway). Three of her films received Oscar nominations, and ‘The Danish Poet’, won an Oscar in 2007. The film also won at Aspen Shortsfest 2006, New York City Short Film Festival 2006 and Genie Awards 2007. Her two movies ‘My Grandmother Ironed the King’s Shirts’ and ‘Me and My Moulton’ also won several international awards. In 2013, she made her animated feature film ‘Hokus Pokus Alfie Atkins’, based on a book by the Swedish writer Gunilla Bergström. Kove has adapted four of her animated films to picture books. As an illustrator, she has worked with the Norwegian authors Endre Lund Eriksen and Constance Ørbeck-Nilssen. She also illustrated books, written by Henrik Hovland. In 2015, she received Norway’s top cultural prize – ‘Anders Jahre Prize for the Arts’ for her immense contribution to the field of Creative Arts. The webinar will be moderated by Kireet Khurana, renowned Filmmaker and Storyteller. Kireet has directed India’s first 3D Animation and live action combined movie ‘Toonpur Ka Superrhero’ starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol. The webinar will cover all script-to-screen aspects of telling great, engaging, aesthetically pleasing stories that touch, move and inspire. In this webinar of a crash course in short filmmaking, you will learn following things: 1. Scripting and Conceptualization 2. Pre-production 3. Production 4. Shooting 5. Editing, Sound and Grading 6. Distribution and Marketing The webinar will be conducted by Kabeer Khurana. He is a 5-time international award-winning filmmaker (Religion for Dummies, Strings, Project Oneness and ISM) and the co-founder of India’s youngest publishing venture, Bombaykala Books. Apart from winning awards in Italy, USA and Ukraine, his films have received several festival selections internationally, including the Global University Film Awards (known as the Student Oscars, in Hong Kong), and have been screened at other festivals in Brazil, Prague, Singapore, Indonesia, Morocco, Croatia, etc. His short film, Karma Cafe, starring Amole Gupte (Taare Zameen Par, Stanley ka Dabba) and produced by Anjum Rizvi (producer of A Wednesday) was named as one of the Top 15 Indian Short Films (by Candid Tech) and Top 87 Shorts (by WebShorts). Apart from direction, he has also assisted on Ghost Stories (2020) for Netflix, directed by Zoya Akhtar, and T for Taj Mahal. Kabeer has been featured in The Hindu, Scroll, Mid-day, Harper’s Bazaar, TOI, Film Companion, DNA, Firstpost, Bombay Review, Mumbai Mirror, etc. for his work in social entrepreneurship and filmmaking.
